Disruptions to mobility for the Zurich Marató Barcelona 2025
Traffic restrictions will apply all around the route from 8.30 am on Sunday, 16 March, meaning disruptions in the districts of de L’Eixample, Sant Andreu, Sants-Montjuïc and Sant Martí. Various bus services will be affected. Restrictions will be lifted progressively once runners have passed through each section. Given the scale of the disruptions, people are advised to use the metro from 6.30 am and 3 pm.
The run sets off from Passeig de Gràcia at 8.30 am, between Gran Via and Pl. Catalunya, with the finish line at Arc de Triomf. The full route can be found here.
The first restrictions at the starting area come on Saturday at 1 pm, in Passeig de Gràcia, from Pl. Catalunya to Gran Via (the side lane on the side nearest the Besòs will stay open). At 6 am on Sunday, traffic will be cut in different road sections in Pl. Catalunya, Pl. Urquinaona, Rda. Sant Pere and Rda. Universitat.
Some sections of Pg. Lluís Companys and Pg. Pujades will be closed at 6 pm on Saturday to set up the cloakroom facilities.
Pg. Picasso (side nearest the Llobregat) will be closed off at 9 pm on Saturday, with the central sections to follow at 6.30 am on Sunday to set up the refreshment area.
The main restrictions on traffic and access to car parks will start from 8 am on Sunday and be lifted later, once runners have passed through. The start area will be reopened to traffic at 11.30 am, with the last disruptions to end at 6 pm.
Prohibitions on parking vehicles will apply from Friday evening and end on Sunday afternoon. Drivers need to check the signage in each affected street at all times to see which restrictions apply and when.
Disruptions to public transport
Various bus services will be affected, with their routes limited or diverted roughly between 6.30 am and 3 pm: D20, D50, H8, H10, H12, H14, H16, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, V25, V27, V29, V31, 6, 7, 13, 19, 21, 22, 24, 33, 34, 39, 47, 54, 55, 59, 62, 63, 67, 96, 109, 120, 121, 126, 136, 141, 192 and the Barcelona Bus Turístic (red and blue routes).
Given the scale of the disruptions, people are advised to use the metro between 6.30 am and 3 pm for journeys to the areas where the marathon passes through. Routes can be planned with Getting there.
Car parks
During the event, changes to the entrances and exits for various car parks will apply:
- BSM Estació de Barcelona Nord. Entrance and exit: Alí Bei.
- Saba de Plaça de Catalunya. Entrance: Plaça de Catalunya (side nearest the sea). Exit: Bergara (opposite direction).
- BSM Marina Port. Exit: Av. Litoral (opposite direction).
- Port Olímpic. Exit: Av. Litoral (opposite direction).
- Estació de França. Exit: Av. Marquès de l’Argentera, Pg. Circumval·lació.
