Street calming measures continue in Entença with the section between Gran Via and Av. Roma
Work gets under way on Sunday to turn a traffic lane into a strip with services. Approved during the participatory budget process for L’Eixample, the project responds to demands from local residents and schools to improve air quality, reduce noise and make areas around schools safer.
The design follows the model for the section already calmed, between Av. Roma and Av. Josep Tarradellas, with services located on the side of the street nearest the Llobregat.
- Motorcycles: 48 parking places
- Bicycles: 35 parking places
- Taxis: 10-metre taxi rank
- Loading and unloading: 66 metres
- Containers: 2 for rubbish and 2 for organic waste
In the section between Gran Via and Diputació, a provisional bus lane will be created while work is carried out in Pl. Espanya, with a strip of services to be added after.
The work will be completed with the reurbanisation of the area around the Escola Joan Miró, already street calmed. The ground will be repainted and garden tubs and urban furniture installed.
