Barcelona welcomes in 2024 from Montjuïc
Barcelona has bid farewell to 2023 and ushered in 2024 with a pyrotechnic and drone show on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, courtesy of the company Groupe F, directed by Christophe Berthonneau, which was attended by 120,000 people. Up to 470 illuminated drones filled the skies over Montjuïc at a height of 250 metres, paying homage to Barcelona and its relationship with the sea, in a year when the city will be under the international spotlight. As the clock struck midnight, ushering in the new year, drones drew a bunch of 12 grapes in the sky. Twelve spectacular fireworks marked the twelve chimes and the light and firework display brought to life the show Desig Barcelona: from the here and now, to celebrate life, to celebrate Barcelona.
