Disruptions to mobility for improvements to road surfaces in the summer

Various works are being undertaken to improve road surfaces in the city in the summer, providing greater road safety. The works mean some closures to traffic and changes in mobility in C/ Sants, C/ Creu Coberta, Av. Diagonal, Via Favència and Plaça Mons.

The summer brings as many as seven road resurfacing projects, improving nearly 100,000 square metres of space in the city and entailing various disruptions.

Sants and Creu Coberta

Resurfacing will be carried out on 3 and 4 August in the section between Av. Madrid and Pl. Espanya, with successive closures to traffic affecting circulation in both directions over the whole weekend.

Avinguda Diagonal

Work will be carried out between Pl. Francesc Macià and Av. Doctor Marañón, in different stages between 6 and 14 August, and doing away with the reversible lane in Av. Diagonal. In all, this work will cover and area of 56,728 square metres.

Via Favència

Resurfacing work will affect the road section between Via Júlia and Pl. Karl Marx and be carried out on 10 and 11 August, renewing an area of 15,761 square metres.

Plaça Mons

Resurfacing work will also be carried out in the area around Pl. Mons, in the neighbourhood of Vallcarca i els Penitents, between 5 and 14 August. Specifically, cobblestones here will be replaced with an asphalt surface.

A total of 600,000 square metres of asphalt renewed between now and 2028

The resurfacing work is planned as part of the Comprehensive Maintenance Plan (PMI), within the context of the Pla Endreça, which includes the renewal of 600,000 square metres of asphalt between now and 2028. The overall goal of these works is to avoid incidents and the deterioration of public space all around the city.
