Collaboration agreement with the Catalan government to build 1,700 social homes
The agreement is the result of 27 plots of municipally owned land being offered to the Catalan Land Institute (INCASOL), which will invest 221 million euros to construct at least 1,700 officially protected homes and dwellings with services, with affordable rents, on municipally owned sites in Barcelona.According to the agreement signed, once the 75-year lease is formalised in favour of INCASOL, an initial stage of 637 homes will be built using the first eleven sites provided by the City Council. INCASOL will have five years to build the homes, The overall investment forecast for this first stage is 82.81 million euros.
Once the homes are built, the Catalan Housing Agency, together with the Barcelona Housing Consortium, will establish the criteria for awarding the homes. At least 30% of the homes are expected to be reserved for young people under the age of 35.
