Green light to build five new health centres
Agreement with the Government of Catalonia to start the administrative process establishing their final locations. The move will improve primary healthcare and benefit 140,000 people in the city.The deal comes as part of the agreement to improve the quality of the city’s healthcare network, subscribed in 2023 and contemplating 73 measures, 29 of them in the sphere of primary and community healthcare.
The new Primary Healthcare Centres (CAP) are:
CAP Sardenya
A new CAP will be built as the current centre has not got enough space. It will be located in C/ Lepant, between Passatge de Sant Pere and Passatge de Boné.
CAP Drassanes
The current CAP will be enlarged by another 1,000 square metres with an annex to the existing building.
CAP Casc Antic
A new CAP will be built as the current centre has not got enough space. It will be located at Ronda Sant Pere, 41.
CAP Casanova
A new CAP will be built as the current centre has not got enough space. It will be located at C/ Provença 164-82.
CAP Poble Sec – Font de la Guatlla
A new CAP will be built to free up space in the CAP Manso. No final location has been established yet, but an agreement has been reached to locate it in the vicinity of Fira de Barcelona.
