New transparency site for the Municipal Tax Institute
The new website is part of a move to open up data to the public, including tax information, traffic fines, property tax and economic activity taxes, guaranteeing people’s confidentiality and strengthening the municipal commitment to Act 19/2014, of 29 December, on transparency, access to public information and good governance.

The information relating to taxes and fines is the latest addition to the catalogue of information available on Open Data BCN, the City Council’s open data service, which currently has over 600 datasets on the local territory, population, city and services, administration and the economy, and business.
Open data
Open data is information made available for the general public to access easily, in an open format, which can freely be reused and help contribute to the knowledge society, incentivise technological development (apps), promote innovation and economic promotion, and respond to certain requests from professional sectors such as journalists, analysts, research staff and students.
