A transparent and ethical municipal register for algorithms to improve public services
Barcelona, Rotterdam, Eindhoven, Mannheim, Bologna, Brussels and Sofia have been working together through the Eurocities network to develop a common model for registering algorithms and guaranteeing the correct use of data. The model will come into operation in 2023, enabling people to consult various data, including those used to train the systems, the legal framework or the human supervision involved. More information can be found and downloaded here, along with the full transparency standard.
This is one of the main steps in the municipal strategy for the ethical promotion of artificial intelligence, developed within the framework of the Eurocities Digital Forum, the goal of which is to develop interoperable intelligence solutions for other cities to use immediately without having to invest more resources in it.
