Action sports gain in popularity every year in the city and are steadily attracting more enthusiasts.

Skateboarding is considered an extreme sport, meaning it is not permitted in streets where there are pedestrians. The city offers various options for skaters to enjoy free spaces which are ideal for this sport. So far, there are four skate parks located around the city. Read on to discover them!

In the shade on the hottest days: Les Corts Skate Park

In the Jardí d’Áurea Cuadrado, less that ten minutes from the Camp Nou stadium, you will find this park with an area of 2,572 square metres. Surrounded by green spaces, the park features various skating elements, such as ramps, platforms, walls and rails, all conceived not only for these types of sports but also as a way of creating quality open-plan public space for non-skaters to enjoy too.

Like being in California: Mar Bella Skate Park

Can you imagine skating by the beach, surrounded by palm trees? Skate like you would in California in this urban sports park of 2,985 square metres.

The park features different difficulty levels and various areas for skateboarding and stunt bikes, with ramps and jumps.

Parc del Fòrum

Near the exit of the metre station El Maresme – Fòrum there’s a small park with ramps, steps and rails. Made from concrete, the park offers a rectangular surface which is very well exploited: on one side we find a street zone, with slopes, circular and rectangular rails, and on the other side there’s a bowl.

A square in Ciutadella

With over 360 square metres, this is one of least known parks in the city, built with modules representing iconic skating spots in the city, such as the paving by the MACBA or the manny pad in Paral·lel.

The new Baró de Viver Skate Park

Opened in 2016, the Baró de Viver Skate Park is located in the area next to the metro station in the neighbourhood, in Sant Andreu. With over 200 square metres, the park features various skating elements: dunes, platforms, slopes, benches, mounds, circular and angular rails, different types of gaps, ramps for jumps and slides and an iguana’s tail.

This multi-purpose park is specially designed for beginners.

Via Favència Skate Park

Located in Via Fàvencia, in the district of Nou Barris, this skate park opened in 2015. It features areas for different types of skating (skateboard, hand scooters, roller skates and bikes). With over 2,000 square metres, the park includes all elements typical of skate parks, such as benches, stands and slopes, all adapted for urban sports of this type.

A converted square: La Marina Skate Park

La Marina Skate Park is located in Plaça del Moviment Obrer, in the neighbourhood of La Marina de Port, in the district of Sants Montjuïc. It has an area of some 3,000 square metres, for skaters of all levels. Different organisations and associations from the neighbourhood of La Marina and the world of skating were involved in the design of the park. Opened in September 2019, the park is the most recent one to open.

The Plaça del Moviment Obrer, now turned into an open skate park, offers a pergola which guarantees shade during the day and lighting for the hours of darkness. The park is divided into three areas: for advanced users, beginners and recreation.
