The Cultural Regatta reaches Tast a la Rambla
“Twelve countries, twelve cuisines” is the name on the stand offering a chance to taste tapas from each of the countries taking part in the America’s Cup, which starts in August. The stand forms part of the tenth edition of Tast a la Rambla and will be in Plaça Catalunya from 6 to 9 June. The initiative forms part of the Cultural Regatta, the programme of activities based around the sports event.New Zealand, UK, Switzerland, Italy, USA, France, Spain, Holland, Canada, Germany, Sweden and Australia will be battling it out in the 37th America’s Cup, with men’s and women’s regattas, plus a young people’s category for the first time ever.
The twelve countries will all be represented at Tast a la Rambla, with their own culinary stand where people can try a tapa from each country thanks to Albert Ventura, from the restaurant Vraba. The tasting will be accompanied by a live cooking display with some of the chefs from the participating teams, as well as concerts and musical performances from these countries. All of these activities form part of the Cultural Regatta, a programme of activities being organised to strengthen the tie between the city and the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup and help the general public engage with the world of sailing.
Tast a la Rambla turns ten this year and offers a wide array of culinary options from the city, with 37 Barcelona restaurants and pastry shops taking part. The fair is organised by the Associació d’Amics, Veïns i Comerciants de La Rambla and Grup GSR.
