More city markets go online
Five new markets have joined the 'Mercats a un clic' pilot project, an online sales platform for city markets. 27 new businesses from the markets of Canyelles, Clot, Hostafrancs, Marina and Sant Andreu have joined the initiative.
‘Mercats a un clic’ is a resource that helps markets meet consumer needs and changing shopping habits. Users can place an order via the mobile app or website, with the option of home delivery or collection at the market. Orders can even be collected after hours, thanks to refrigerated lockers located at the entrances to the municipal facilities.
The platform gives vendors the tools and services they need to process online orders, including home delivery logistics with electric vehicles and pick-up at designated points.
These new additions bring the total number of markets to 15 and the number of active businesses in the system to 91. The first phase was launched in June 2024 in the markets of Sants, Llibertat, Concepció, Abaceria Central and Provençals. In October, five more markets were added: Sarrià, Horta, Les Corts, Ninot and Poblenou.
