Public pricing to increase in line with CPI
The second package of public prices from 2025, approved by the Govern Commission, will match the increase in the CPI. At district facilities such as community centres, play libraries, neighbourhood centres, youth centres and centres for the elderly, a general increase of 2.4% will be applied to all services. As ever, reductions and promotions are planned for training activities for the unemployed and those with disabilities.
Prices at municipal sports facilities affiliated to the districts will rise in line with the CPI, with a 2.4% increase applied, while prices in centres managed by the Barcelona Institute for Sport (IBE) will apply an average rise of 3.5%, with a 4% increase expected only for membership prices and one-off admission. At these facilities, activities and services linked to members (courses and guided activities charged for), as well as activities linked to clubs and organisations (rental of football pitches and other pitches, athletics tracks, halls, multi-purpose sports courts etc.), the increase will be 2.4%
At the request of the ERC, all municipal sports centres will offer occasional admission with an average discount of 40% for people with disabilities and for pink card holders. Social prices will also continue to be offered for the most sensitive sectors of the population (single-parent families, large families, social services users, the unemployed, refugees, participants in Campus Olímpia extra-curricular activities and sports activity camps etc).
This package of public prices comes in addition to the general public and private pricing approved a few weeks ago with a view to next year, freezing prices or applying increases in line with the CPI.
Bicing, Endolla Barceona and the Zoo are maintaining their prices, with most prices for the Home Support Service and the “Meals in company” programme also frozen. As for private pricing for BSM, notable increases include the admission prices for Park Güell and Tibidabo. The public prices for waste collection services will be adapted to the stipulations in Act 7/2022 on waste services, with a gradual price rise over three years.
