Housing renovation work under way in El Besòs i el Maresme
One building has already been renovated, with work under way on two more and a further six to be renovated between October 2024 and March 2025, while the project for the final building is now being drafted. In all, 204 homes will be renovated during this term of office.At the same time, work on the pilot project is moving forward with progress on the final projects and the urban management tools needed to renovate a total of 693 homes during the next term of office.
The Commitment to El Besòs i el Maresme seeks to improve living conditions in this neighbourhood of Sant Martí, with a comprehensive approach, and aimed at reducing vulnerabilities in quality of life in the city and strengthening social resilience.
The overall investment for these ten buildings is 10 million euros, two thirds of which will come from the City Council, with the rest coming from EU Next Generation funding (around 25%) and contributions from the local tenant/owner communities.
