The 0-99 play area, which opens on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the Clariana de Glòries, is adding more play options this spring. The kiosk is now offering a play area with giant wooden games for all ages, as well as options for children with autistic spectrum disorders and their families. Two special sessions are being offered in April entitled “Let’s look after the planet!” and “Is it still Sant Jordi?”. Don’t miss the options available!
These are games with simple rules which anybody can enjoy, such as:
- Chinese chequers
- Finnish billiards

- Tabletop croquet
- Catalan skittles
- Fanorona

- Giant pebbles
- Giant La Trampa
- La Mola

The 0-99 play area is offering a special area for children with autistic spectrum disorders and their families, which also features games with giant wooden pieces. The new area will include the project Play AUT the Box, which is aimed at improving public play areas for children with autistic spectrum disorders and their families. Through the joint design of the Box AUT, an adaptation of “games cases” installed in public space, and the creation of six stereotypes called Games AUT, the project aims to promote the social inclusion of children with autism spectrum disorders and improve their experience in the city. Headed by the TURBA research group from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), participants include the Global Institute of Neurodevelopmental Integrated Care (IGAIN), Barcelona City Council and others.

ENCARA ÉS SANT JORDI? (IS IT STILL SANT JORDI?)
Yes indeed, at the 0-99 the celebrations for Sant Jordi continue with a performance of the story El Pinyol, by Anna Lucini and Lia Bertran. After that there’s a game with couplets, and a workshop to construct rhymes. Over the whole weekend we’ll be recommending games with dragons, roses and literature as the protagonists.
More than 400 games in the green area in Glòries
The 0-99 play area consists of a kiosk with over 400 games, lending out leisure materials and board games for people to play there during the opening hours. It has tables and chairs, with parasols and spaces conditioned for people to be able to play in. The space also has a team of helpers who guide users and provide support, explaining games and creating settings where people of all ages can play, and most of all facilitating intergenerational and intercultural shared play.
Since it opened in 2023, the 0-99 play area has attracted 36,698 users in all. The service is free and open to all, with no need to book in advance.
