New premises for the Les Corts PIAD to increase its support for women
The new premises for the Les Corts Women’s Information and Support Point (PIAD) were inaugurated today. This leading municipal service had previously been operating out of the district office and is now housed in purpose-designed premises at C/ Entença, 304.The new facility for the PIAD has more floor space, with the additional room meaning better service for users and greater comfort for the team of professionals working there.
Open to the public since the start of January, the new PIAD is a newly built facility at street level, well-connected and accessible in an area with other local services. The centre has two interview rooms and a spacious work room for meetings, activities and gatherings by organisations in the district, as well as the Les Corts Women’s Board.
The Les Corts PIAD also implements community action programmes open to the neighbourhood and the district, such as the cycle “Teixidores de paraules i drets”, in collaboration with the Biblioteca Montserrat Abelló.
Network of facilities to support women
The Les Corts PIAD is one of twelve Women’s Information and Support Points (PIAD), which provide a free and confidential public service offering information, advice and guidance in different spheres for women. The points also offer free psychological assistance, legal advice and group support.
PIAD services are aimed at women of age, and at girls between the ages of 12 and 17 who live, study or work in Barcelona. Users do not need to be registered as officially residing in the city. The points also provide support for professionals and organisations in the city working in the sphere of women’s wrights and tackling male violence towards women.

Appointments are required:
- By calling the freephone number 900 922 357 (Monday to Thursday, from 9 am to 7 pm, and Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm).
- By emailing the PIAD for the corresponding district. Addresses on the PIAD website.
In an emergency, the Barcelona Urgent Care and Social Emergency Centre (CUESB) offers round the clock support 365 days a year by phone (900 703 030) and in person (C/ Llacuna, 25).
Support for nearly 2,500 women in 2023
The city’s twelve PIAD facilities provided support for 2,459 women between January and September 2023, conducting 7,911 individual interviews and first interviews for 1,333 women. In addition:
- 499 women received psychological support.
- 866 received assistance from lawyers.
- 439 took part in group actions.
- 1,054 took part in community actions.
Essential issues addressed by the PIADs include sexist violence towards women, emotional health, mourning and self-esteem processes.
