The tram infrastructure now has tracks, canopies at the stops to come into service (Glòries, Monumental, Sicília and Verdaguer) and the new section in Pl. Glòries, where the new public transport interchange will be located.

The underground power feed for trams is currently being installed and will be completed in February.

As for the remodelling of the urban surroundings, the pavement on the side nearest the sea in the section between C/ Marina and Pg. Sant Joan is completed, with work under way on the pavement on the side nearest the mountains. Some sections have now been completed between C/ Marina and C/ Los Castillejos, with traffic lights brought up to date along the whole route.

More walking space and public transport

The new tram section between Glòries and Verdaguer will connect the Besòs metropolitan area with the city centre, promoting the use of public transport by linking the tram with metro lines 1, 2, 4 and 5 and thirteen bus routes.

The urban transformation of Av. Diagonal will create new spaces for people to stroll and spend time in, offering a healthier environment where priority has been given to sustainability and more trees and vegetation added.
