It is often said that the first time people hear this Andalusian crooner’s work they think they are listening to versions of classic songs. What better compliment could we make to the quality of these timeless pieces? For the songs that Zenet sings, such as Soñar contigo, written in the 21st century, could easily have been composed in the 20th. Zenet’s music takes the listener on an enchanting musical journey that ranges from the bolero and the tango to jazz and beyond. Los mares de China is the first solo album from a singer who was acclaimed as Best New Artist at the 2010 “Premios de la Música” music prizes and who has also acted in such films as Juan Antonio Bardem’s The Young Picasso: 1881-1906, in which he plays the lead role.
