Since 1987, the Harlem Jazz Club has put on nearly 10,000 concerts. Conceived as a place where artists can be free, artists playing every possible style of music, both established and as yet undiscovered, have appeared on its stage.
The oud player and multi-instrumentalist Yannis Papaioannou settled in Barcelona at the beginning of the century and in 2007 he created the group Asíkides here, playing traditional Greek music. The group’s repertoire, however, gradually grew and was transformed thanks to Papaioannou’s tireless musical curiosity and to the multicultural atmosphere of Barcelona. Among other artists, the band has worked with the Turkish musician Omar Faruk Tekbilek and the Spanish singer Noemí Calumarte. This time he will be performing together with the Greek singer Christiana Vlanti.
Interpretació musical: Christiana Vlanti (veu), Savvas Salpistis (baix), Alexandre Guitart (percussió) i Yannis Papaioannou (llaütista i multiinstrumentista);
