A dance company that, having branched out from flamenco origins to forge its own choreographic language, now celebrates its first twenty years. At this birthday party, dance is the gift... and women raise their glasses.
They were born in the XX century, they have been dancing for XX years and all have XX chromosomes. Do you need any more explanation regarding the title of the show celebrating Increpación Dana’s anniversary? In 1993, Monte Sanchez and Ramon Baez launched themselves into the task of renewing flamenco language, “contaminating” it with elements from contemporary dance. Now, they look back over a career spanning twenty years in which the company has always danced in the feminine, never noting the absence of a male bailaor. This show features moments from the company’s most outstanding pieces, revisiting its origins and illustrating the evolution and creative maturity of two choreographers who continue to renew the language of dance.
