The fascinating world of Leonardo da Vinci inspires a show that is an invitation to give free rein to the imagination. In Flights, the stars are the inventions of the Renaissance genius.
Automata, video projections, plans and designs for the most diverse and surprising objects... All this and more on stage at Sant Andreu Teatre (saT!) in a family show that takes the great inventions of one of the best-known geniuses of all time and turns them into dance. For Leonardo da Vinci, his machines and even his paintings and sculptures are the stars of a show that does not aim to educate or entertain, but to invite viewers to look, think and feel in a new way. And also to doubt, because doubt drives thought and thought is a subversive act that, as this company suggests, turns the spectator into a citizen. The choreographer Enrique Cabrera has created this new show for Aracaladanza, a dance company with over twenty years’ experience. In previous works, the company had already turned objects into protagonists, and they will now explore one of our most archetypal dreams: to fly. Projections, puppets and music will all delight not only younger audiences but also anyone who is still young at heart.
