Shakespeare Face to Face

  • Activitats paral·leles

Review this year's Grec programme and you will find two companies, Els Pirates Teatre and Parking Shakespeare, facing the same work: The Taming of the Shrew, title of a work that is considered the most sexist of those by the English bard. But both Els Pirates Teatre and Parking Shakespeare have managed to turn it around and make of the text a feminist plea. Parking Shakespeare brings to the festival L'amansi (pa) ment de les fúries, directed by Carla Rovira, and Els Pirates do so with Les feres de Shakespeare, directed by Adrià Aubert.

Come and, after a brief introduction with the main key points to understand Shakespeare universe better, you will be able to see how the members of both companies defend their methods to manage the text and therefore, how they compete in a shakesperean battle that promises to be exciting. A proposal that seeks to get the younger audience closer to the universe of the most represented author in the west world.
