Rhum & Cia

The slapstick trilogy began in the Grec in 2014 and closes in this year's edition after having produced some of the most enjoyable and therapeutic shows seen in recent years on the Catalan stages.

The clown seeks for, and almost always finds, the flaws within reason and the like. The wise man trembles as he laughs, because often the core of a laughter, the life of men, is primarily made of sadness, said Baudelaire.

When clowns are able to make numbers out of letters and dress up facts with nudity, freedom is their prison. In this performance you will be invited to observe and reflect on the figure of the clown by means of a musical collage formed by shows of their own creation and some classics, all seasoned with a bit of sweet and sour humour to uncover the muscles of laughter. Maybe your shoes will turn bigger; or maybe you will see yourself reflected in the characters crowded around the circus ring as if the clowns had somehow kidnapped your heart. And you may realize that "laughing" is not just a word, but something deeper. As you will notice, these clowns do not like to laugh at anyone but rather with everyone ... because laughter heals almost everything!

Jordi Aspa, a circus man who, together with Bet Miralta, is fifty percent of the company Escarlata Circus, and directs now the show closing the trilogy which started with Rhum and followed by Rhumia, a show with music played by a five-of-a-kind poker of artists who know how to seduce and fascinate the public with the surrealist stories that take place on the stage.
