Since 1987, the Harlem Jazz Club has put on nearly 10,000 concerts. Conceived as a place where artists can be free, artists playing every possible style of music, both established and as yet undiscovered, have appeared on its stage.
A combo led by the musical director of the Septeto Sazonando has created a sound full of modern shades but which keeps as its major point of reference the most classic sounds of Cuban music. Because Ray Cuza, living in Barcelona since 2003, has researched traditional popular Cuban music and has been a member of outstanding musical projects, collaborating with artists and groups like the Taller de Músics’ Original Jazz Orchestra, or the singer Lucrecia. This time he is working with Telva Rojas, an outstanding Cuban singer who lives part of the time in her country and part in Barcelona, where she first became known in 2009, taking part in a fondly remembered tribute to the legendary artist Bola de Nieve.
