As part of their search for new languages and new visions of the performing arts world, the Catalan company brings this Argentinian playwright and director to Barcelona for the first time so that, together, they can explore the mechanisms of theatrical representation.
A leading figure on the emerging theatre scene in Argentina, Zorzoli had already used the stage to meditate on the codes and rules that, whether we are aware of them or not, govern our behaviour and mark our relationships. He did this in Estado de ira, a play that delighted critics and audiences alike at the Madrid Autumn to Spring Festival in 2010. Those impressed included members of the T de Teatre theatre company. Fascinated by . Zorzoli’s examination of human relations and his sense of humour, at once hilarious and dark, and by his skill at casting light on the darker areas of the human being, they visited the playwright and director in Buenos Aires to propose creating a show together. This result is the Premis i càstigs, in which the Argentinian once more meditates on issues related to stage performance, inviting the Catalan company explore before the audience the thousand and one questions generated by the relationship between an actor and the character they play.
