A living legend of Latin jazz presents in Barcelona, for the first time, one of his most personal recordings, dedicated to his mother, a disc that received the Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Album in 2014.
On this album, D'Rivera’s Cuban sounds are joined in happy union with Brazilian music, as performed by Trio Corrente, one of the most outstanding bands in Brazil today. The meeting between this co-founder of the legendary Irakere and illustrious member of the Fania All Stars, who also helped to revive the career of Bebo Valdés, amongst many other achievements, and this splendid trio from São Paulo (according to D'Rivera himself, a “marvellous” ensemble, “one of the groups that have most impressed me”) generated one of the most impressive projects on the Latin music scene in recent years. Now, for the first time, this exciting combo will perform in Barcelona.
