World jazz comes to the Mercat de les Flors. Omar Sosa, whose new sounds in Afro- Cuban music have won him widespread acclaim, releases a new recording, Mulatos, a work in which he uses such instruments as the Indian tabla, the Arabic lute and the European clarinet to give expression to his curiosity, his inquisitiveness, his meditative nature and his interest in innovation. For one night only, the Cuban composer and pianist will bring this rich music to Barcelona, regaling his audience with sounds enriched by reminiscences from all the cultures he has imbibed, from the energy and forceful messages of hip-hop to jazz experimentation, not forgetting, needless to say, the sensuality of Cuban popular music.
