Octopus

Dance, music, eroticism and... a touch of circus. We will find all this and more in the choreographic poems in this new show by Philippe Decouflé, the dancer and choreographer who is about to premiere a new show for Cirque du Soleil. Octopus begins with a duet, after which dancers are gradually added to a total of eight in an arithmetic progression, a counting game that sets the cold world of numbers against the carnal intensity of beauty. For beauty is the guiding thread in this performance, which tells love stories with unhappy endings and explores contrasts, pitting physical beauty against such ugly feelings as jealousy. All accompanied by live music by the ethnic-experimental rock band Nosfell.
