Nits d'estiu al CaixaForum

  • Altres

From technology to literature, not forgetting music and movement. Wednesday nights in July, the widest range of arts comes to Montjuïc.

MULTIMEDIA
Every Wednesday, from July 4 to August 29
Carrers modernistes
Píxels
Computers, cameras, mobile phones… They all use pixels, units that combine to form images. They are part of our life, and they are also the raw material in this interactive installation by Jonas Vorwerk and Yoren Schriever, in which their experiments with pixels produce surprising results. Technology made game.

DANCE
Wednesday, July 4, 8 and 10 pm
Vestibule
Memòries corporals
Dance is not only for the young, and there is no reason why spectators should only watch. Choreographer and dancer Cesc Gelabert breaks with the clichés by creating a piece for twenty-five older people and twenty-five younger people whose finale calls for audience participation.

LETTERS
Wednesday, July 4, 9 pm
Auditorium
Un vas de plata
Humour, simplicity and sensitivity. The poet and narrator Antoni Marí won the City of Barcelona Prize and the Serra d’Or Critics’ Award in 1992 for his collection of short stories about teenagers. Now, Montserrat Carulla and Sílvia Bel present a dramatised reading from this work.

Wednesday, July 25, 9 pm
Auditorium
A cegues: lectures a les fosques
You won’t have to close your eyes to concentrate on the world of sensations created by sounds and words. This dramatised reading takes place in the dark and is performed by people who are blind or visually impaired. With the aid of sensory, musical and audio effects, they will both read and phonetically present the selected texts.

LITERARY CABARET
Wednesday, July 11, 9 pm
Auditorium
Tots aquests dois
Guillem d’Efak, a Majorcan poet and musician of Guinean origin, was one of the leading lights in the Catalan nova cançó movement. Pep Tosar reviews the life of a man whose great humanist intelligence led him to live in a permanent state of rebellion.
With Pep Tosar (interpretation, dramaturgy and direction), David Mengual (piano), Marc Cuevas (double bass) and Oriol Roca (drums).

Wednesday, July 18, 9 pm
Auditorium
Del cant i el desencant: cabaret literari
Notes and letters are the co-stars in this exploration of reality and fiction, the absolute and the relative. An accordion accompanies the words, creating a sonic atmosphere around a show whose main ingredients are literature and music.
With Pepelú Guardiola (dramaturgy), Joan Alavedra (accordion) and Xavier Albertí (director).

MUSIC
Wednesday, July 11 and 18, 8 and 10 pm
Pati Anglès
El musical participatiu
Would you like to go on a journey through the history of musical theatre? Our guides are Gershwin, Rodgers, Bernstein, Sondheim, Kander, Webber and Schönberg, amongst others, and we shall stop along the way to listen to masterpieces from such shows as “Cats”, “Les Misérables” and “Chicago”. This repertoire will be performed by two leading local figures in the genre, Mone and Sergi Albert, as well as a choir of willing ordinary people and a ten-piece orchestra.
With Óscar Peñarroya (musical director), Xavier Casan (stage director), Mone (soprano) and Sergi Albert (tenor).

Wednesday, July 25, 8 and 10 pm
Place: Pati Anglès
Ianizer & Lemethy
In 2009, an enterprising young Catalan by the name of Víctor Guixer, who had a background in house and trance music, joined up with the duet formed by Jonathan Lemethy and Ian Mostrom to explore new paths in electronic sounds. Together, they created a new musical style that they now present in our country for the first time: "New Dance Symphony".
