Love for free

  • Teatre

This is an artistic action and a sociological experiment that will make you think about the concept of love and human relationships.

Social distancing, individualism, loneliness, the inability to relate: this show explores these themes, reminding us that we’re social beings who need contact with others. In short, we need to see, touch, be near, feel, hug and kiss each other more. In a narcissistic and individualistic society with a high degree of emotional disconnection, it is essential to seek new ways of relating to each other that bring us closer together, connect us and enable us to question how we interact with acquaintances and strangers. Perhaps we need to reconnect with ourselves and our emotions in order to be more empathetic to others and our environment. This project is a paean to love as a possible solution for healing and transforming our fears and seeking new ways of interacting with ourselves and others. In this way, love becomes a revolutionary artistic act that reaches the stage through transformative art. Love for Free is a multicultural piece about social cohesion, diversity and inclusion, in which participants will take part in a community initiative.

It is a show conceived by Sergi Estebanell, a street theatre artist who has performed at the Grec with shows such as Call me “Maria” with Adrián Schvarzstein and the Xirriquiteula company in 2011. A creator of experiential theatre, Estebanell also develops artistic projects that seek social change through art.
