Llàtzer Garcia / Sílvia Munt

An imperfect love story that asks a difficult question: whom do you love more, your partner or yourself?

Paula and Isaac live separately in a house in the middle of woods and mountains. She is about to shoot her first film, which will star her companion, marking his return to the cinema after having temporarily retired from the profession due to mental health issues.  The production gets underway, and the couple experience it with a mixture of enthusiasm and giddiness.  But in the first few days of rehearsals before the filming, what Paula secretly intuited actually becomes clear: Isaac cannot participate in the film and is a danger to both himself and the entire crew. His role, based on himself and his fraught experience, will have to be played by another actor.

Llàtzer Garcia, one of the authors who stood out in Grec 2022 with Al final, les visions [At the End, Visions], the end of his residency at the Sala Beckett in the 2021-2022 season, is back at the festival with a show on the limits of love. Garcia has previous written and directed shows like Els nens desagraits (2017) and Els somnàmbuls (2019). The play is directed by Sílvia Munt, who directed Dubte [Doubt] by John Patrick Shanley at the Grec 2012, El preu [The Price] by Arthur Miller at the Grec 2016-2017 and

Casa de nines: 20 anys després [A Doll's House, Part 2] by Lucas Hnath at the Grec 2019.

Co-produced by Bitò and the Grec 2024 Festival de Barcelona.
