What does real soul music sound like? This artist from North Carolina, who grew up listening to the soul greats, will tell us in a concert. Fields and his band bring the essence of black music to the venue on Avinguda Paral·lel.
James Brown, The Temptations, Eddie Floyd, Otis Redding, classic sixties Memphis soul... That’s the soundtrack Lee Fields grew up listening to. Since he began singing in the late-sixties, he has played in the funk style of James Brown (no coincidence they used to call him "Little JB"), as well as more contemporary blues and soul. In the seventies he became a funk legend, whilst in the nineties he was enthusiastically discovered by soul-blues fans. Today he is popular in such diverse genres as hip-hop and rare groves. His nine albums, from Problems (2002) to his latest release, Emma Jean (2014), all recorded with his band, The Expressions, provide an endless source of pleasure for many music fans delighted by his revival of the most classic sounds in American black music.
