A play written by five Catalan and six Colombian authors set in Bogotá, which changes format and city to become an audio route through the Raval neighbourhood. A real experience of performing-arts creation... in movement!
Three years ago, a coordinator, five Catalan authors and five Colombian authors started to work together on the creation of a single text written by eleven pairs of hands, with very different cultures and ways of working. The result was an experimental piece of theatre that was staged in Palermo, the area of the Colombian capital described by La noche sin tiempo, while explaining the comings and goings of Polete, a young migrant who was struggling to survive. Now the theatrical production has taken the lockdown-exit form of a route around places in the El Raval neighbourhood, from Plaça de Jean Genet to Carrer de l’Arc del Teatre and the Rambla del Raval. Given that the story has also changed city, the Barcelona and Colombian authors have rewritten the scenes to fit the streets of today's Barcelona. How would this young migrant experience the lockdown in one of those flats? If he lived here, what would his flat be like? And above all, how would he live in a city in mourning, where an invisible foe has swept through the streets where our Polete would have roamed in the previous version of the text? The result is a walk with stops at specific places in the neighbourhood, where you are invited to view videos, photographs and other materials while you discover how a theatrical project is created simultaneously on both sides of the ocean. In parallel, a talk with the authors and a writing workshop with an open exhibition of the results will complement this reflection on breaking geographical, poetical, methodological, social and human limits. (Further information about the talk and the workshop in the ‘Local Grec’ section).
