Once again, the theatre at Parallel Avenue is a musical epicenter of the festival, offering a particularly diverse and stimulating programme that ranges from new wave to jazz, through pop and Brazilian sounds and songs.
Kevin Johansen, with his entire band, presents a show that combines his most popular and acclaimed songs (Anoche Soñé Contigo, Guacamole ...) with some new songs from his next album that will be published in April and whose single Solo le dije has already been released. Eclecticism, bilingualism, subtlety in the compositions and much American music, is the formula he has always used successfully to become one of the most respected singer-songwriters in Argentina. His compositions reflect the life of an artist who was born in Alaska, lives in Argentina and in the 90s acted in the CBGB, the mythical local New York whose owner, Hilly Kristal, mentored him. He mixes popular Argentine music and North American pop, and combines all the Latin rhythms, from the cumbia to the tango, with the American folk. After 15 years on the Argentine scene, Kevin Johansen has gained international recognition and has collaborated with artists as diverse as Natalia Lafourcade, Jorge Drexler or Rozalé. His last album received 3 Grammy nominations.
