Pop, rock, soul, folk and a host of other rhythms, often clearly connected to roots music, fill the BARTS concert hall for four intense weeks in which women will play an important part.
In 1967, 50 years ago, Francis Albert Sinatra, better known as Frank Sinatra, made a record with one of the greats of Brazilian music at the time and who, moreover, had been one of the stars of bossa nova, Antônio Carlos Jobim. John Pizzarelli, an American jazz singer and guitarist, remembers that here by playing the songs from that disc, accompanied, among others, by the pianist, singer and songwriter Daniel Jobim, grandson of Antônio Carlos Jobim. The John Pizzarelli Trio was the support act on one of Sinatra’s last tours, has sung songs by Jobim and has paid other musical tributes to great names in music like for example The Beatles.
