With his ability to move easily amongst such diverse musical territories as rock, swing or new wave, Joe Jackson is music’s ever-credible son, whether he is composing symphonies or turning out pop songs. His most recent works, which blur the frontiers between classical and pop music, illustrate Jackson’s interest in producing ever more sophisticated sounds. Tonight’s show is completed by Todd Rundgren, considered by many fans to be the last cult rocker. With a career stretching back to the 60s and including membership of such bands as Nazz and Utopia, Rundgren is a pioneer of electronic music and progressive rock.
