In this film, Joana Hadjuthomas and Khalil Joreige invite Catherine Deneuve to travel with them from Beirut, in southern Lebanon. This take on a road movie through a war-torn land shows the actor witness the devastation caused by Israeli army attacks, as well as the possibility of finding beauty.
Through a film series at the Filmoteca and two conferences/audiovisual performances at MACBA, Focus Rabih Mroué offers an additional sample of the Lebanese artist’s creative universe, who will be presenting the performance Riding on a Cloud at Grec 2023 (17 and 18 July at the Teatre Lliure-Espai Lliure). Mroué will also take part in an artists’ workshop during his stay in Barcelona, as part of the Can Mamella Artistic Training and Research Summer School (13 and 14 July at Fabra i Coats: Fàbrica de Creació).
