Romantic-sexual mantras, electronic mambo, glam-pop, progressive dance, situationism, ceremonial ballads, comic mysticism and more. All valid coordinates to locate the trajectory of more than two decades of Hidrogenesse. Carlos Ballesteros and Genís Segarra, authors of classics such as Dígito binario dudoso (2012) or Roma (2015) and founders of the Austrohúngaro collective/label, released Jo Jo Bo Bo in March, a collection of new covers, sequels and improvisations based on recordings from the album Joterías Bobas (2019), a critique of the despondency imposed by a new turn, more melodic and strangely old-fashioned and romantic, in his inimitable style.
Before that, performer and soprano singer Nebula Millarca will present Queer Respexit, a queer and LGTBIQ+ appropriation of Christian iconography that calls for the return of the fertility goddesses and the goat god in opposition to the Virgin Mary and Satan. In this pagan mass, the Visitation of the Travesti Virgin and her angels will take place in a ritual in which darkwave electronica will be fused with opera and the violins of Los Gabis.
Molinex is a celebration of diversity through performativity linked to the performing arts, music, performance and rescuing memory. As part of the Barcelona Grec 2022 Festival, this is a “queer” rogue’s offering With El Molino as the stage and El Paral·lel as the context.
A Grec Festival 2022 co-production.
