The oldest venue of its kind on the Iberian Peninsula, Jamboree, a club devoted to jazz, blues and associated rhythms, is about to host show number 25,000. To celebrate this great event, a programme that pays tribute to the finest black music.
In just one week, three jazz legends will perform at Jamboree.

Hermeto Pascoal Grupo: Brazilian Experience
An icon, guru and all-time legend comes to Jamboree with the all-encompassing, universal sounds of Brazilian popular music. Leading artists engaged in a wide range of styles and genres have learnt from him: from Jobim to Caetano Veloso and Carlinhos Brown. Tradition and transgression, creativity and fun; these are just a few key ingredients in the marvellous musical cocktail that Hermeto Pascoal serves up.

Princes of Time
Twenty-one years after the release of their first album, Princes of Time return to live performance, making up for lost time and claiming their place as leaders on our country’s jazz-funk scene. The musicians from the original line-up are back with all the enthusiasm and energy of an explosive reunion. Afro-American dance rhythms and undisputed musical mastery.

Benny Golson Quartet
A veritable all-time jazz legend raises the prestige of the club in Plaça Reial even higher. Born in Philadelphia in 1929, saxophonist Benny Golson has played with such iconic ensembles as the Dizzy Gillespie Big Band and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. Founder of The Jazztet, an outstanding sixties band, Golson is famed not only for his innovative phrasing but also – and above all – as the composer of such tunes as Blues March, Whisper Not and Stablemates.
