Músiques en Paral·lel

She is one of the newest voices on the Catalan scene, but draws on the legacy of singer-songwriters and protest songs in her creations. She demonstrates this with a very personal album in which she questions the concept of romantic love.

This young singer and pianist has music in her blood; her father was a musician and actor, and her uncle, an outstanding singer-songwriter who left his mark on a generation of music fans. At the age of 18, she put her career as a concert pianist on hold in order to study jazz at the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya. To see just how right that move was, all you have to do is listen to the songs on her new album, Rere tot aquest fum [Behind all this smoke]. It is full of songs that speak about the real meaning of love and the incoherence it creates in us, and remind us that if you don't love yourself, there is no way to love others. It is worth noting not only that analogue instruments were used on the album, but that the sound was also treated analogically, and even the cover photograph was made like in the old days, without any electronic devices being used.

This new album, which includes concepts ranging from self-love to toxic relationships, comes after Màtria, an album released in 2020 that was especially committed to the cause of women and was produced by Jordi Casadesús (La Iaia, Núria Graham), as was the album we will hear in the Barcelona Grec Festival. Actor and director Guillem Albà (the creator of shows such as Marabunta, Calma, Pluja, Canto jo i la muntanya balla…) made the video clips that the artist recorded for this album, as well as the exceptional staging which makes this concert a totally unique, multi-sensory performance. This will be a good way to enjoy the music of an artist who was accompanied by the guitar of Toti Soler on Petita festa (2018), who has worked with a long list of artists, from Lluís Llach and Joan Manuel Serrat to Kepa Junkera, and who has won the Enderrock award on more than one occasion, most recently the Enderrock Critics Award for best singer-songwriter album in 2020, for Màtria.

A Centre Cultural La Marfà, L’Atlàntida, Centre d'Arts Escèniques d'Osona and Speed Music co-production.

In collaboration with La Marfà - Centre de Creació Musical de Girona.
