Stories, tales, gossip; this is all part of the literary walks that two narrators have prepared for us. Listen to them online while you go for a stroll and discover a way of reading the city on your feet.
The narrators Roser Ros and Jordina Biosca will be putting their voices to two walks that combine urban discovery with literature: one is around Ciutat Vella, evoking the numerous narratives collected by the folklorist Joan Amades, and the other speaks about Montjuïc, focusing our attention on the green areas and sculptures dotted around the mountain. Both circuits are designed for families and you can start off from any point on the itineraries.
Go to the www.tantagora.net website, choose your itinerary and, when your reach each point, listen to the literary excerpts they have prepared for you.
A walk around Ciutat Vella
The folklorist Joan Amades collected a series of traditions, stories, tales and popular literature that show us the fun, traditional side of the city. This walk takes you to various locations in Ciutat Vella, following the trail of the gossip and stories collected by Amades in a compilation of great literary and ethnological value. The itinerary is full of places that are teeming with anecdotes, events, singular shops and colourful characters. Enjoy a great family walk! You won't regret it!
A walk around Montjuïc
Montjuïc was the setting for the 1929 International Exposition and the 1992 Olympic Games. These two events filled the mountain with buildings of great architectural value and Barcelona residents love to walk around them, but we also like to go up the mountain to get away from the city crowds. In the olden days, people cultivated the slopes of Montjuïc with verdant vegetable gardens, but now its extensive green areas include places such as the botanical gardens. The walk allows you to discover, or rediscover, the art and verdant nature of Montjuïc, through the stories that have taken place there and through the narratives and beliefs that originated around it.
