The School for Spectators is one of the great ideas that the theatre director, playwright and teacher Jaume Melendres had and put into practice. The project is based on the belief that the viewer forms part of an artwork. Just as artists hone their skills, viewers can also improve theirs. The School for Spectators seeks to help participants to understand the why and how of a theatre piece, a choreography... it invites you to take part in the Grec by attending rehearsals, seeing how a set is built or how dancers prepare. All because we –like those who manage La Seca, the regular venue for the School for Spectator– are convinced that, the more we know, the more chance there is that we will enjoy the show.
