The Poble Sec restaurants showcase the rich gastronomy of this Barcelona neighbourhood, occupying Pl. Margarida Xirgu for the duration of the festival. Every week, from Wednesday to Saturday, four different restaurants will be serving their culinary delights. The restaurants involved offer everything from Arabic cuisine to Asian fusion, Italian cuisine and tapas, and will be serving up different dishes every week to bring us the widest and most varied picture of the gastronomic wealth of this Barcelona neighbourhood.
It will be a showcase of elaborate, high-quality local cuisine at affordable prices, served in various sittings. The first, at 6:30 p.m., is ideal for having a drink and does not require prior booking. Then, there are two dinner sittings: 8–10 p.m. and 10:30–11:40 p.m., though the latter sitting will be extended to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Finally, on Fridays and Saturdays, the space will be open 12 –1 a.m. and serving cocktails, not food, and there is no need to book.
You will be having dinner or drinking in a venue decorated with images by the painter, sculptor and set constructor Ramón de los Heros, author of the rich imaginary that will adorn the different parts of the square during the festival. And, between mouthfuls, you will be able to enjoy street shows, performances and good music.
