Dies Irae; en el Rèquiem de Mozart

Marta Carrasco takes the music from Mozart’s Requiem as her starting-point and source of inspiration. She makes dramatic use of this and other works, going beyond the pure Mass for the Dead to create a kind of profane ceremony inhabited by the weirdest characters. This ceremony examines the role played by a particular type of Church, that of power, and its attitude to women. Here, the ire is not divine, but human, and infuses the whole piece, an irreverent work full of contrasts and intense drama.
