It may be more than ten years since it was first performed, but this production has no expiry date and still retains its ability to move while entertaining. It was the first collaboration between the Pamplona playwright Alfredo Sanzol, now director of the Centro Dramático Nacional, and T de Teatre. It is not surprising that they came into contact, since the author was particularly interested in bringing short stories to the stage, just like T de Teatre had done in its first productions, including Petits contes misògins (1991) and Homes! (1994). Taking that same kaleidoscopic structure as a basis, Sanzol wrote a comedy bursting with poetry, almost twenty stories that were born from the memories of the author’s childhood, lived among grandmothers and aunts. Many of these stories are set during the Spanish Civil War and the post-war period. Two friends looking for an excuse to go for a walk together, a painter who desperately wants to sell a painting, two girls who say goodbye to a brother who is going off to war, a soldier who sends a colleague to photograph his girlfriend naked...
Delicades is one of the playwright’s and T de Teatre’s most celebrated creations. The company, currently consisting of Mamen Duch, Marta Pérez, Carme Pla and Ágata Roca, was created in 1991, when a group of actresses who had just left the Institut del Teatre decided to start creating their own projects instead of waiting for a director to give them a phone call. Since then, they have carefully chosen their companions, initiating a series of successful collaborations with playwrights and directors such as Pau Miró, Javier Daulte, Denise Despeyroux, Ciro Zorzoli, Julio Manrique, Sergi Belbel, Cesc Gay and David Plana.
