Once again the jazz club at plaza Reial joins the Festival with a selectin of great artists. Some represent the best NorthAmerican jazz and others are noted for its extraordinary vitality of the Barcelona jazz.
Born in La Habana, the pianist Dayramir González is currently a musician from the Latin jazz scene in New York. Worthy successor to the best jazz piano school with Afro-Cuban roots (from Chucho Valdés to Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Ramón Valle or Roberto Fonseca), Dayramir González stands out for his overwhelming energy of his performances, such as the work of The Grand Concourse (Machat, 2018) , which will be presented at the Grec. With his group, Habana enTRANCé, González embraces the magnetic pulse and mystique of New York and, at the same time, the Cuban sounds of the early twentieth century. All with a wink to the cultural myths of the Yoruba religious elements.
Musical interpretation: Dayramir Gonzalez (piano), Tatiana Ferrer (vocal and electric violin), Dean Torrey (bass), Juan Chiavassa (drums), Keisel Jimenez (congas)
