This show for a family audience goes through the culture, traditions and thousand stories of China, a country that, as the young spectators will learn, shows us that there are many ways of understanding the world.
Wood, fire, earth, metal and water ... They are the five elements (or wǔ xíng, which could also be translated as "the five movements") that, combined and related to each other in a circular movement, give rise to all the things that we know: wood gives rise to fire, the ashes become part of the earth, from which the metals are extracted ... It is not the way we understand the world in the West, but it is the basis of a system of thought typical of the country where pandas live. The two dancers who star in this show will follow the trail of each of these five elements while inviting the young spectators to follow them and get involved in a journey through time and space through China. It is an itinerary made of songs and traditions, of nature and of the culture of one of the oldest civilizations on the planet. They tell us by means of choreography, images and soundscapes, in an immersive tour in which the spectators and viewers will be guided by a panda able of transforming himself depending on the moment into a car, a train, an airplane or a bicycle, means of transport that will take us to the most hidden corners of China.
Follow the cycle of life, element by element, according to Chinese thought and along the way, you will find out thousand and one stories, traditions and some songs that the fathers and mothers of China sing to their sons and daughters. Now, these same songs and traditions arrive thanks to The house of the Panda to the ears of Barcelona's children, authentic explorers about to discover a new world.
