Vertigen musical veneçolà

Have you ever heard the sound made by the Venezuelan cuatro? These musicians will give you a master class on their first European tour after winning a Latin Grammy.

The members of the C4 Trío are, perhaps, amongst the finest masters of the cuatro, the national Venezuelan instrument, a stringed instrument that is an ancestor of the guitar and the American cousin of the tiorba, the charango and the cavaquinho. They certainly have plenty of experience: last year the band celebrated its tenth anniversary. The C4 Trío got together at a music contest in their country, the Siembra del Cuatro International Competition, where they met having come to the Venezuelan capital from different towns in the country. And so began an adventure in which they have renewed Venezuelan roots music. Their sound takes traditional music into contemporary terrains, such as jazz. Over their long career they have released several successful records, including Gualberto + C4, nominated as Best Folk Album at the 2013 Latin Grammy Awards, and 2014’s De repente, which finally won them Latin Grammy for Best Folk Album of the year. With this prestigious prize in their hands, they now come to Barcelona to perform a show that no one interested in the diversity of Latin sounds should miss.
