A cabaret-musical take on the life of Miguel de Molina, a singer from Málaga exiled in Argentina since 1941, which also speaks of the relations between the two sides of the Atlantic. Humour, music and café theatre in a radio drama turned into various podcasts.
Do you enjoy the radio? Then you are sure to be fascinated by this experience, in which a musical production on the life of Miguel de Molina, which should have been performed as part of the 2020 Barcelona Grec Festival, has been turned into a series of podcasts that form a radio drama version of the show. The spirit of the most underground café theatre pervades this production, which focuses on Miguel de Molina and his contemporaries, while also lending a voice to characters such as Pablo Neruda, Eva Perón and Margarida Xirgú, among others. All of them crossed the Atlantic Ocean and soaked up the art and experience of the Old and the New Continent. They crossed an invisible transatlantic bridge that has existed for centuries and is still standing now. If you are interested in listening to the texts and songs from this production, created by Felipe Cabezas and Pere Cabaret, make sure you get the podcasts.
These radio podcasts are part of the Barcelona Grec Festival's ‘Local Grec’ section, dedicated to creating online content from productions that should have been seen this summer in the city's small-format theatres. The Covid-19 crisis made it necessary to postpone live performances of productions relating to Latin America, but the Festival is now offering a series of online content that includes performances, talks and other events.
