There is a whole world out there, and you just have to get to know it. Some of the best independent bands and artists around bring a sample of the new sounds that are making waves in Latin America today to Barcelona.
Electronica, rock, pop, noise... Singly, combined or fused, all these sounds and more can be heard in Latin America, which is currently awash in great new music. All over the continent are independent bands and musicians whose frenzied creativity is shaping a festive and innovative scene. You have the chance to discover this for yourself in a night that reveals that Latin music is not necessarily what you expected. The line-up for this show includes, amongst other acts, Mitú, a duo formed by Julián Salazar and Franklin Tejedor, who use synthesisers and rhythm machines combined with traditional Colombian drum and improvised vocals to create a danceable electronic sound; and the Mexican band Descartes a Kant, renowned for their raucous live shows and their sound, which fuses loud rhythms and gentler melodies in music that blends noise core, rock & roll, Sur, electro and Bossa Nova. They will be accompanied by La Banda Municipal del Polo Norte, a Barcelona independent pure pop rock band that have released an album, Calor, this year.
