Pop, rock, soul, folk and a host of other rhythms, often clearly connected to roots music, fill the BARTS concert hall for four intense weeks in which women will play an important part.
In 1990 Andrea Echeverri and Héctor Buitrago formed a band that, despite having changed its name to the current one in 1992 and bringing in new members, has since the very first day been offering a grateful audience a mixture of good rock and sounds from traditional Latin American music, Colombian to be precise. The environment, social justice, women’s rights … Yes, Aterciopelados is a band that not only has a conscience but which has given itself the job of sharing it with its fans. Reluciente, rechinante & aterciopelado came out in 2016, but another disc is due this year.
